Dentures & Partials Rosedale, MD

For patients with multiple missing teeth, we recommend replacing them with custom full and partial dentures. Traditional dentures are removable, but they often do not fully support the bite. Many patients use adhesives to keep their removable dentures in place, but they can slide around the mouth. For the most stable dental restoration, we recommend dental implants.

Implant-secured dentures can restore natural speaking, biting, and chewing ability. Patients who receive this type of denture do not have to worry about their restoration slipping or falling out. Additionally, patients who choose dental implant-secured dentures are able to eat the foods they love and speak more clearly.

Dentures and partials are a restorative dentistry service we offer to the public in Rosedale, Maryland. Dr. Evan Padousis and his team recommend implant dentures to patients in Rosedale, MD. If you have missing teeth or a removable denture but want to replace it with a secure restoration, we can help.

Treatment with Dentures: what to expect

Placing a denture or implant-supported denture begins with an exam and consultation. We want to understand your oral health concerns and your ling term goals for your smile. Before providing care, we check for signs of dysfunction or infection in the existing teeth and gums.

For patients receiving dental implants, we will make sure that they have enough jaw bone tissue to support the implant posts. We will take dental impressions that are sent to a dental lab for the denture prosthetic.

When implants are placed to secure the denture, we will perform a minor oral surgical procedure to place the implant into healthy jawbone. Over a period of 3 to 6 months, the dental implants fuse with the bone tissue. This creates a stable foundation for the denture. When the implants are fully healed, we will attach the permanent denture.

Implant-supported dentures still need to be brushed and flossed like natural teeth. We recommend interdental brushes for patients so they can remove bacteria buildup between their new teeth. To keep the appliance bright and clean, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. Abrasive toothpaste can scratch and damage false teeth.
